Hi. My family (partner, three year old daughter) and I are planning a long-term trip to Bolivia. Has anyone been? I want to get involved in the needs of the communities there if possible, but not to impose myself religiously. We are interested in humanitarian work, growing organic food, and being part of the culture any way that is available to us as foreigners, but not so much in a tourist-like setting. Thanks for any ideas or advice.

WWOOF - World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms

If you haven't heard of this one yet, it sounds perfect for what you are looking for. Bolivia is part of the wwoof independents network, which means you pay a one year subscription and you can wwoof in Bolivia and about 50 other countries for that year. It's a small fee too. |
