I just received info from a friend about.....
"an upcoming trip to walk the Abraham Path. The trip will take place from April 25th to May 9th. It's not a free trip, but it is subsidized by the Kellog Foundation. Feel free to pass this on to people you know who may be interested in this kind of travel.
Here's the link: http://www.kfla.org/default.aspx?id=1822
And this is the description from their website:
Following the footsteps of Abraham from Harran, Turkey through Syria, Jordan, and Israel to the tomb in Hebron/Al-Khalil in Palestine, this Travel & Learn experience offers Fellows and guests "voluntourism" and an opportunity for personal encounters among people of different faiths and cultures along the Abraham Path.
The purpose of the Abraham Path is to inspire cross-cultural exchange and mutual understanding; to promote sustainable tourism and economic development and to help preserve the region's historic sites and natural environment. The path follows the journey made by the Prophet Abraham- the common patriarch of Judaism, Christianity and Islam- some 4000 years ago. "
