I have been wanting to travel since I was a lil kid! Unlike (so it seems) most people on this site, I have only an Associates of Applied Science from going to a trade school. I'm broke, just turned 21. Reading this website....before even reading the book (which i plan to do) helped me decide I need to get going and live life the way I want. Discovering different cultures and meeting...the world.

How in the World Wide Web I found Odiyan, I dont know. It's a Buddhist reatreat center in the Sonoma Valley in California

I'll be there for 3 months, at least, installing heating and cooling inside a temple. Before I head there I'll be at the Nyingma Institute in Berkley for a short stay. Their mission is to aid Tibet and they make books mostely.

Google them n check it out. * Odiyan * * Nyingma *

Great opportunity for small community living, veggie meals, no tabacco, beautiful setting, learning yoga, buddhism, lots more. Very hard, 12 hour work days and the closest town is 45 min away which makes it a bit rough but I believe it's a good cause. I'll make sure to update this post once I experience it firsthand. So far the interview process has been good!

I think I might try to travel the globe with construction. So far I've done Arizona and Southern, Cental & Northern California. Is this "delaying the real world' or just an alteration? I might end up back in school and working but who knows?! I'm nervous. I'm excited. I'm freakin out maaaan Exclamation Laughing Question
